Small Porch Sitting Area

Hi friends! I took a vacation for a couple of weeks but I am so happy to be back at home and back to blogging...yay!!!  I feel like I have been in a slump lately but when I arrived at home, I had this metal sign in the mail from FITZ Fabrications...and it completely inspired me to spruce up our back deck! FITZ Fabrications is a small business here in Oklahoma so I am super excited to have been able to collaborate with them. They have many, many metal signs available on their website and can even do customs!

I choose to have a sign say "stay awhile" for our back deck area. We have a big table that we dine around often but I had a space next to our door that was pretty bare.

If you look at the side of our house we have overlapping siding, which I completely didn't think about when I envisioned this metal sign on our back deck. BUT....I came up with a simple solution that I think I love even more! I had this old window setting in our basement so I took some wire (that I found at the dollar store) and went through the holes already cut into the metal sign and wrapped the wire around the window, twisting it tight in the back. I think it came out perfect!

We recently put new deck boards down so we are just waiting to paint them or stain them, haven't decided which one yet.

This sign is a 16" circle and is available on their website HERE! I think it's the perfect addition to making your deck or porch a cozy, inviting space! I'd love to know your thoughts!

  1. So cute! I have a great idea for this porch or any other like this: An Eames rocking chair, like this one
To sit in the porch on a rocking chair is a great sunday evening activity when you just want to be contemplative.
Beautiful post! I loved what you did with your plant!
